This weeks readings and videos focused a lot on fun and the motivation and components behind creating stimulation based fun game that humans enjoy.

Its vital that you must investigate various forms of entertainment in order to use them as inspiration while creating your game.

We saw a video called "A theory of fun for game design" in this week's class.

It highlighted how people are drawn to games because they engage us, challenge us, and expose an infinite amount of challenges.

Fun is defined as a learning environment that captures our interest.   Games may be entertaining, however they can also be about almost anything.

Fun is defined as "pleasurable involvement," which separates itself from more neutral aesthetic enjoyment and entertainment.

In order to have a game that can engage the player for long periods at a time the player needs to be stimulated. There needs to be a dopamine release that will entice the player to ultimately always want to come back to the game.

Below are some further articles and videos about this topic that may be useful.
